The Douglas hotel is a tastefully restored family run coaching inn located on the High Street in the picturesque border town of Langholm.
The comfortable accommodation, atmospheric restaurant and cosy bar provides visitors with a relaxing base from which to explore Dumfriesshire, the Scottish Borders and Cumbria.
The atmospheric candle lit restaurant offers a locally sourced freshly prepared a la carte menu, seasonal chalkboard specials, traditional favourites and an extensive dessert menu. The restaurant opens early for
pre - theatre meals prior to
Buccleuch Centre shows.
Accommodation at the hotel comprises four very comfortable en suite bedrooms. Each room enjoys its own individual character. Rooms are equipped with flat screen tv/dvd players, free wi- fi access, double or king sized beds, courtesy tray, hairdryers and high pressure power showers.
The cosy bar provides a comprehensive selection of malt whiskies, spirits, wines and ales (cask ale available).
During summer months, meals and/ or drinks are served in our south facing stone walled beer garden.
* Langholm is known locally as ‘The Muckle Toon’ (muckle is a Scottish word meaning ‘large’) as historically, Langholm was a large woollen textile manufacturing centre.
Langholm is a recognised centre for the country sportsperson. Walking, cycling and fishing parties are made very welcome at the Douglas hotel.
